How Should You Care for Your Batik Face Masks?
The color on fabric can sometime bleed when you wash them, so make sure you wash these batik face masks separately from your other garments. We usually wash the batik face masks separate from other garments on machine cold wash and then air dry them.
On the pleated rectangle face masks, after you have machine wash them, it would help to shape the pleats again before air drying them. Or else you can also choose to iron the pleats out to make them look brand new.
Be sure to remove any filter before you wash your face masks.
How Often Should You Wash Your Face Masks?
The CDC says masks "should be routinely washed depending on the frequency of use." "My recommendation would be to wash your mask every day," Dr. Cassandra Pierre, an infectious disease physician at Boston Medical Center, told Reviewed. "If you're using it and going out to run errands, you run the risk of having droplets collect on the surface of the mask."
If you exercise and use your mask, make sure to always wash the face mask after every exercise so that your face mask is always clean the next time you need to use it so you don't get maskne, aka mask acne.
