We went on our honeymoon to Lombok and Bali 10 years ago. Although it was not my first time going to Bali, it was my first going to Lombok. Here are the places we went to and a short video of our trip. Let's day dream about the next time we can visit Lombok and Bali - hopefully real soon.
Lombok travel itinerary
- Gili Trawangan Island
- snorkeling, glass-bottom boat, scuba diving, water skiing, kayaking, etc. (on personal cost)
- Gili Trawangan is the largest of Lombok's Gili Islands and the only one to rise significantly above sea level. Measuring 3 km long and 2 km wide, it has the most tourist facilities.
- Narmada Temple
- is about 25 Km from Senggigi area, was created circa 1805 as replica of Rinjani Mountain and Segara Anak lake. The garden at Narmada was beautiful maintained and surround the pool and lake. Some of the pools at Narmada are available for swimming and are popular with local people.
- Banyumulek Village
- small village with shops selling pottery products, with its distinctive terracotta styles, has become famous internationally and it is exported throughout the world. The shops make great souvenir or gift at home. Visitor can also try to make art pottery on your own style
- Sekarbela Village
- the village is a pearl handicraft center since Lombok is blessed by an abundance of freshwater pearls and sea pearls.
- Sukarare Village
- is a weaving village where quality tenun ikat, a traditional cloth is display and sold. Weavers work outside shops, using antiquated to painstakingly produce works art. Some of large pieces can take several months to weave, and collectors from around the world visit this village to purchase the blankets, sarongs, cloths produced here
- Sade & Rambitan Sasak Villages
- Sade & Rambitan are two traditional Sasak (origin tribe in Lombok) villages, located 45 Km south of Senggigi area, located between the roadside and rice fields. There are authentic Lumbung (traditional houses) here and the villages are laid out in old-style compounds.
- Kuta Beach Lombok & Tanjung Aan
- facing the Hindian Ocean, Kuta beach in Lombok is known for the Pepper Sand Coast. The reason, according to locals, this beach is known as the yellow-white sand like grains of pepper

- Ubud Art Market
- the art crafting are sold in this art market consisted of various crafting, from traditional until contemporary crafting which its price is relatively cheap, like slipper, wood idol, bag, clothes, matting, paintings, etc
- Lake Bratan of Bedugul

a shallow lake with high caldera about 1,231 m above sea level and it is located at Bedugul. It has 3,8 km2 wide and deepness is up to 22 m. Here, visitors can do various water activities, riding the boat motorize to circle the lake, parasailing, canoeing with the traditional boat, banana boating, water skiing, and others

Tanah Lot

Tanah Lot means "Land in the Sea" in Balinese language. There is a temple sits on a large offshore rock which has been shaped continuously over the years by the ocean tide. It’s claimed to be the work of the 15th century priest Nirartha, when he felt it to be a holy place to worship the Balinese sea gods. The Tanah Lot temple was built and has been a part of Balinese mythology for centuries. It’s also one of seven sea temples around the Balinese coast. Each of the sea temples were established within eyesight of the next to form a chain along the south-western coast. At the base of the rocky island, poisonous sea snakes are believed to guard the temple from evil spirits and intruders. A giant snake purportedly protects the temple, which was created from Niratha’s scarf when he established the temple. Visitors enjoy beautiful of sunset in this area
- Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park
- the Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue project and its pedestal building stands 150 meters tall with its wings span across 64 meters. Made from more than 4000 tons of copper and brass, the statue is picturing God Wisnu as the source of wisdom, riding on the back of the mythical bird Garuda as the manifestation of conscience toward Amerta, the perennial goodness. The statue of Wisnu is an illustration of the Almighty God in maintaining and caring all life. The god Wisnu is the owner of Amerta in the form of water as the source of fertility, giving wealth and life to the universe.
- Luhur Uluwatu Temple

spiritually important to the Balinese people, as it is one of Bali’s sacred directional temples (kayangan jagat) protecting the island from evil spirits in the southwest. It's this proximity to evil, presumably, that compels the temple's guardians to require visitors, wearing of special sarongs, as they are supposed to protect visitors from evil influences. (If you don't bring your own, don't worry - these items can be borrowed at the temple gate). Built in the 10th century, "Ulu" means head, and "Watu" means rock, the temple at "the head of the rock" stands atop a sheer cliff rising two hundred feet above the Indian Ocean. The temple commands a wonderful view of the sea breaking against the base of the cliffs below, and a totally unforgettable sunset
- Kecak Dance at Uluwatu Temple
- A Kecak performance is a dance done in the evening and is very simple. The men's chorus chants the words Cak ke-cak in rhythm, over and over again. For this reason they are called the Kecak or Cak dance. The Kecak dances consist of about fifty men wearing only a loin-cloth, the upper part of their bodies left bare. They form rows of circles, in the middle of which is a coconut oil lamp. The Kecak dance is performed for dance-dramas and the story presented is taken from the Ramayana epic
- Nusa Penida Cruise
- Venture into paradise to the picturesque island of Nusa Penida, where it ties up alongside a floating pontoon for the day. The island has super gardens and marine life and it's an ideal base for enjoying watersports. On the cruise, you can take a guided snorkeling tour, with qualified snorkeling instructors on hand to help you, or sample the experience of scuba diving. - Kuta Beach
- Kuta, located in southern Bali, was a sleepy fishing village half a century ago, but it has slowly expanded since the 1960s after its long sandy beach was discovered by travellers from Asia and wandering surfers from nearby Australia. Nowadays Kuta is quite busy and packed with varied cheap bars and clubs make it a party centre, while local and international restaurants offer great dining.
