Large 39" Hand Dyed Batik Bandana Charcoal Gray, Size XL Scarf, Oversized

$36.00

The intricate pattern on our hand-dyed Batik Bandana is crafted by skilled artisans in Indonesia using a 700-year-old batik technique. This bandana is used as a prop to Idina Menzel’s broadway Redwood musical in New York.

  • This bandana is made from white cotton fabric that is then hand-stamped and hand-dyed using 700 years old batik wax and dye technique. The batik fabric is also then sun baked. You should expect some variation of the color.
  • This pattern is called Kawung, named Charcoal Gray
  • Size: approximately 39”x39". Due to the pre-washing process and the use of hot wax and copper stamps in its creation, our bandana may have slight variations in shape, resulting in a non-perfect square. This minor shrinkage is a natural part of the traditional batik process, adding to the uniqueness of each piece.
  • Made with 100% cotton fabric
  • Material: soft lightweight cotton fabric, that is more typical of bandana. This is a different type of material than our original collection of thicker fabric, while still made of 100% cotton.
  • Machine washable in cold and air dry. Wash batik separate from other garments.
  • This versatile bandana is perfect for adding a touch of style to your look—whether worn in your hair, on your tote bag handle, around your neck, wrist, or ankle.
  • Also great bandana for your pet dog
  • See our video of batik making process from white cotton fabric to the final product below

I love both the bandanas I purchased from you.

Previously, I’ve wasted my money about half the time when I’ve bought bandanas. Sometimes they weren’t the size they were supposed to be. Sometimes they were not nearly the color shown or the patterns just didn’t work up close. Sometimes they just didn't drape well.
Yours are excellent. LOVE the drape. I tend to tie mine cowboy-style, you know, like Roy Rogers. But tucked inside the open neck of my shirt, just barely off to the side. The size is perfect for the feel and drape of material. What I mean is that, if the bandana is a little too thick, by the time I tie them, they are just too fat to drape.
Also, they feel in-between a casual work bandana and a classy bandana you could wear for dress.

The borders are uneven and it it not a square,

but it looks good and the fabric is nice.
