Hand Dyed Batik Bandana, 100% Soft Cotton, Scale in Blue and Pink

$18.00

This is a hand-dyed and hand-stamped batik bandana, handmade by artisans. This fabric is handmade by artisans in Java using centuries old wax & dye batik technique.

  • This fabric is made from the flowy lightweight bandana fabric.
  • This bandana is made from white cotton fabric that is then hand-stamped and hand-dyed using 700 years old batik wax and dye technique. The batik fabric is also then sun baked. You should expect some variation of the color.
  • This batik pattern is called Sisikbatu.
  • Our artisans hand-dyed the fabric multiple times to create this multi-color batik fabric.
  • Size: 19.3" x 19.7". Due to the pre-washing process and the use of hot wax and copper stamps in its creation, our bandana may have slight variations in shape, resulting in a non-perfect square. This minor shrinkage is a natural part of the traditional batik process, adding to the uniqueness of each piece.
  • Made with cotton
  • Machine washable in cold and air dry. Wash batik scarf separate from other garments.
  • You can wear them as bandana around your neck, as a head and hair cover wrap or as a face mask.
  • Also great bandana for your pet dog
  • See our video of batik making process from white cotton fabric to the final product below

Beautiful shades of blue. Larger size easier to tie around neck. Lovely cotton. Could be even larger for a shawl.
